Giving to Stella Maris
Since opening our doors in 1953, the mission of Stella Maris has been to provide excellent, compassionate care to the residents and patients we serve. The dedication and generosity of our corporate partners, benefactors, and special friends have helped us to advance our mission and continue the tradition of Catherine McAuley, the first Sister of Mercy, who dedicated her life and her fortune to meeting the needs of her community.

Types of Gifts
You can support the residents and patients of Stella Maris with the following types of gifts:

Tribute Gifts
You may make a tribute gift to Stella Maris in memory of a loved one or in honor of a person or an event, such as a caregiver, an anniversary or birthday. Giving in tribute memorializes or honors someone or something special while making a difference in the lives of others at the same time.
Unrestricted Gifts
Unrestricted gifts make an immediate difference where they are needed most.
Planned Gifts
Making a donation through a planned gift is a thoughtful way to create a legacy of support for Stella Maris while providing for your own future and that of your beneficiaries. Planned gifts include designating Stella Maris as a beneficiary of an IRA/retirement plan or life insurance policy, bequests, charitable gifts that provide income for life, and trusts that benefit both Stella Maris and your heirs. Planned gifts typically include some type of tax benefit in addition to the satisfaction you receive from knowing that your gift will benefit others in the future.
Matching Gifts
Many companies will match gifts made by their employees to nonprofit organizations. Please contact your Personnel Department to find out if there is a matching gifts program.
Restricted Contributions
You may wish to contribute to a particular fund or program such as bereavement support, pastoral care services, a particular unit, or the Monsignor Lyness Fund which provides hospice care for patients who are uninsured or underinsured.
