Making a change in the residence of a loved one can be a very difficult decision for a family. The goal of the Admissions Department is to ensure a smooth transition from a hospital, home or other living situation into the most appropriate services at Stella Maris. Caring and compassionate staff guide family members through the admissions process as easily as possible. The first step in the process is to contact the Admissions Office and a referral coordinator will arrange a personal visit, tour and interview.
The Admissions team is comprised of nurses and referral coordinators who provide information and answer all questions. They also medically and financially assess prospective admissions for appropriate placement in one of the 10 nursing units. Stella Maris staff can clinically evaluate for care from a current residence, a hospital or another nursing facility.
Admissions may occur anytime of the day and week to accommodate families and referral sources. Stella Maris accepts Medicare, commercial insurance, Medicaid and private funds.
